When you connect with Facebook, the panel doesn't ask you about a single account: it scans every Page your Facebook user manages and lays out the Instagram accounts linked to those Pages in one list. The Choose accounts to connect screen is where you decide which of them join your portfolio. This guide explains every row, every badge and every rule on it.
⚠️ This screen is valid for 15 minutes. If it expires it says "The selection expired or is invalid"; the Connect again link restarts the Facebook sign-in. No half-finished account is ever created.
The screen has one job: which Instagram accounts join this portfolio. Each account you pick is added as its own account, with its own inbox, automations, settings and team access. You cannot merge two accounts into one inbox.
Even if the same Instagram account appears on several Pages, it is listed once; the line under the name tells you which Page it came through.
Above the list sits a line telling you how much room your plan leaves for new accounts:
If your plan has no account limit, this line doesn't appear at all.
Right above the list it says how many accounts you've ticked: "2 accounts selected". With none selected you see "No account selected".
Each row shows the profile picture, the account's name, and below it @username · Page name Page. Tapping a row selects or deselects the account; there are no checkboxes — the selected row is highlighted and a mark appears on its right.
Rows that can't be selected look dimmed and don't respond to taps; they are there for information.
The badge on the right of a row tells you the account's state in the system.
If at least one account is selectable, the Connect selected button sits at the bottom. If none is selectable, a Connect again link takes its place and sends you back to the Connect account screen.
⚠️ Note: Confirmation is all or nothing. If one of your picks breaks a rule (someone else connected it in the meantime, or your free slots don't cover it), none of them is connected and the screen says why. No half-connected account is created.
You run a restaurant chain with three branches and have just opened a fourth. Your plan allows five accounts and you use three, so you have two free slots. Connecting with Facebook, five rows appear:
All you need to do is leave the fourth branch's account ticked and press Connect selected. Your portfolio ends up with four accounts and one free slot.
